Crested Gecko
- Native to Southern Grand Terre, New Caledonia and at least one small surrounding island (Isle of Pines)
- Crested Geckos are semi-arboreal, spending most of their time in small trees and low shrubs
- They often seek out hiding places near the ground to sleep during the day
- Has a prehensile tail and is nocturnal
- Often referred to as an “eyelash gecko” or a “crestie”
- They do not have eyelids, but instead clean their eyes with their tongues
